Fergie: The ability to Not Affected by Age

For Ferguson, the ability not influenced by age of the player. Therefore, he believes the age of just 20, De Gea will be able to prove its capacity to fill the post United's goalkeeper.

United's decision to bring David De Gea to replace Edwin Van der Sar, who had retired at the end of the 2010/11 season is bringing doubts of various parties. Because, with a young age, De Gea is considered not to have a pretty good experience in order to inherit a tough task, which has successfully acted well by Van der Sar.

Ferguson also admitted that his decision is not without risks. Still, he believes De Gea will play its role very well at Old Trafford.

"I once went to meet Petr Cech when he was in Rennes. He was 19 years old at the time. And I said to myself, 'he was too young,'" said Ferguson was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "But Chelsea finally bought it (2004, with a value of 7 million pounds) and he has always been a part of the team."

Fergie confident ability as a goalkeeper is not influenced by age. Therefore, he admitted that he would not regret the decision to transport the 20-year-old goalie from the Atletico Madrid.

"David is still quite young, he has speed, he has great ability, very quiet and will distribute the ball to his colleagues," explained the man who has led the Red Devils for 25 troops this year.
