No mention is how much it costs Chelsea to redeem Courtois disbursed. But the Genk claimed that English clubs bid for the goalkeeper's 19 years 'very large'.
"We received a huge offer that makes us have no choice but to let him go," said the Director of Genk, Dirk Degraen, told BBC Sport.
Last season, Courtois featured as many as 40 times for Genk and played a major role in bringing the club with a blue and white uniforms that won the Pro League Belgium.
