Messi: Winning in the final is more important than goals record

Lionel Messi had a chance to equal the record for goals in the Champions League. Even so, he would not think much about it and more concerned with Barcelona's victory over Manchester United.

Messi has collected 11 goals in the Champions League this season. He only lost one goal of a single season record in the Champions League which is held by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Still have a chance to match, even through, a record Nistelrooy, Messi still further the interests of Barca. For him, Barca victory over Manchester United in the Champions League final on May 28 will be much more valuable.

"Gol important only if you win games," said Messi dikutipThe Sunday Mirror.

"If I did not score a goal and Barcelona won the Champions League, it's not important whether I am who scored or not,"the Argentine striker.

"My interest is the collective success of the team, not individual glory. I am not motivated by the desire to score more goals than other players in the Champions League. If that would happen, then there, "concluded Messi.
