Serie A change rules relating to non-EU players


Italian football federation, FIGC, eventually changing the rules Serie A players-related non-EU players. They now allow Serie A clubs to bring more non-EU players.

Previously, FIGC issued regulations that allow each club only bring in one non-EU player per season.

As rumored Football Italia, the rule was originally held to encourage clubs to use players of his own upbringing, rather than bring in players from outside the EU.

That rule then get the opposition. The clubs also requested that the rules be changed back to the period before 2010. The drive is also getting results.

FIGC eventually changed their decision to allow each club to bring in two non-EU player per season. This rule applies as soon as possible so that each club can get an extra non-EU players.

FIGC president, Giancarlo Abete, said that these new regulations could raise the competitive element of Italian football.

"The return of regulation of two non-EU players to revive the competitive element in Italian football," he said.
