Within the last few years, Albiceleste always failed to grasp the championship trophy in any major competitions. Albiceleste last time when winning the international tournament to win the Copa America in 1993.
The length of Argentina which has always failed to win the international competition did not make Messi hopeless. He was pretty sure at the Copa America this year, capable of ending peceklik Albiceleste championship trophy for this as it gets support from his supporters.
"I never felt so loved by the people of Argentina. This is the only place where previously I did not get the same treatment as in Barcelona," Messi said on TyC Sports.
"I always talk in Argentina, but unfortunately we have not won anything so far. I've won almost every title in the club and the people know about it. I hope to bring Argentina to win the championship trophy this year," he added.
Messi is also not denied its failure when competing in the World Cup last year. But he claimed that the Copa America represents the greatest desire to win the championship trophy over the years.
"My biggest dream is to win the Copa America. We know how meaningful the Copa America for me and also for Argentina," said Messi. "Copa America a prime target because we currently consists of several groups of players who are very great," he said.
"We have always said that we lack the time to complete the details there. But now we have it already. The game is always getting the ball and trying to take over the game from the opponent, and we will grow bigger again," he concluded.
Acted as host at the event Copa America 2011, Argentina will begin their campaign in this event by facing Bolivia in the opening match which was held on 1 July.
