Contract with Barcelona Milito actually only ended in June 2012. But both agreed to speed up separation by cutting a deal that still remains one year.
"FC Barcelona and Gabriel Alejandro Milito has reached an agreement to release the Argentine player, whose contract ends on 30 June 2012," Barcelona said in a statement on his official website.
Milito's departure from Camp Nou to finish four years of togetherness two, after he was carried off from Real Zaragoza in 2007. However, due to frequent injuries she can only appear in 75 games in the whole occasion.
Milito did not have idle time following the breakup of contract with Barcelona. Reported Yahoosports, 30-year defender was immediately tied Argentine club, Independiente for three years. Independiente Milito is the first professional club which he strengthened in the period 1997-2003.
