Warning Ferguson: City In Hell Group

MANCHESTER - Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson walked back to the European stage this week with a warning to Manchester City. Fergie assess the City is in the group of death.

Fergie revealed that his club was fortunate to be in a group with European clubs. In contrast to the Citizens who have accepted to be a group with strong clubs and have a good history in the Champions League.

"You hope to be lucky and I think we have been pretty lucky with the drawing interesting. Then you see a group of City, it's hell! That is a very difficult group," said Ferguson as reported by the Daily Star Sunday (11/09/2011) .

City to join the elite European competition for the first time, had to face five-time champion Bayern Munich, plus the strong Italian team, Napoli and Villarreal from Spain who have wide experience in European competition.

This will bring England back to Spanish opponents in European competition. Ferguson also admitted that the team Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho would be a threat in the Champions League this season.

"It was a hell of a group that contains a tough team. Unlike the Spanish and English, Italian football is not in a big cycle of success lately, but Napoli is well worth playing in the Champions League," he said.

"I watched their home game with Lazio last year and they fell behind 1-3 and was able to reverse the situation to 4-3. It was a fantastic match. In addition, a team like Bayern Munich, which hosted the final of this season," he explained.

The Scot is also targeting the re-appear at the top of the game like last season before losing to Barcelona in last season's Champions League final at Wembley stadium in May 2011.

"So I was quite pleased with the results of our sweepstakes. Also, you are hoping for a decent game in this important journey for this season and we should avoid the problems there, "he explained.

"The important thing about the whole competition is to accept the challenge and everyone should try to meet against Barcelona," he said.
