Thus expressed Britain's sports minister Hugh Robertson. The desire to pull out of FIFA is based on the appearance of corruption charges against six high-ranking officials of FIFA, as disclosed former chairman of the nomination of England bidding to host the 2022 World Cup, Lord David Triesman.
As reported earlier two FIFA officials, Issa Hayatou (Cameroon) and Jacques Anouma (Ivory Coast) was accused of accepting bribes amounting to U.S. $ 1.5 million to choose Qatar as the host of the 2018 World Cup. Meanwhile, four others accused of requesting bribes to get votes in the election of the World Cup host.
"I've seen the development of several football associations around the world (related to the desire to pull out of FIFA), mainly related to bidding we did that host (World Cup) 2018," Robertson said on the BBC.
Robertson expressed what could be not just a bully because he claims to have made contact with other countries. But clearly the UK calls still have good intentions to clean the problem of corruption from the body FIFA.
"We have a desire to try to work to change from within FIFA. If FIFA can not do it, then I say that all options may be performed.
"But for now we snagat want to work with them and make sure that they (FIFA) need to take the same steps as the IOC when processing cases related to the problem of Salt Lake," Robertson finished.
