Van der Vaart Claims Happy Modric at Spurs

LONDON - Luka Modric was the middle of a target of Manchester United and Chelsea. However, Rafael van der Vaart made a startling claim by saying Modric happy to play at Tottenham Hotspur.
 
Croatian midfielder was already declared intention to leave White Hart Lane and is met with Chariman Daniel Levy. However, Levy asserts not allow Modric to leave.
 
If you want to qualify for the Champions League next season, then Van der Vaart was very important for the Spurs to defend his best players, one of Modric. "We want to finish top four again and we must retain our best players," said Van der Vaart.
 
"Modric is very happy to play at Spurs. Maybe a little disappointed with the performance of the team. I can understand his condition. Maybe, for once good to change your club. But, he told me that he is happy playing here," he said.
 
"We are very pleased Modric survive. It's incredible to retain star players and Modric is a very fantastic player," said the Dutch international midfielder was quoted as Goal, Friday (8/7/2011).
 
If the Spurs managed to retain a number of star players such as Gareth Bale and Modric, Van der Vaart is very optimistic about Harry Redknapp's farm club can look impressive on the upcoming 2011-12 competition.
 
"We played a tremendous season. This season it will be heavier, but if all the defenders, then the Spurs will undergo a tremendous season," said the former Real Madrid midfielder.
