MANCHESTER - Arsenal already rejected an offer for Manchester United Samir Nasri. But Sir Alex Ferguson's squad was very optimistic Nasri could bring to Old Trafford next season.
Nasri had spoken to Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger. Midfielder mercurial Frenchman refused to commitment to his contract which will expire in 12 months. Rumors, Nasri'm released into the United next season.
Management of the Red Devils quickly moved directly by sending CEO David Gill to bid Nasri. Although in the end, Arsenal rejected United's bid of 20 million pounds to get Nasri.
But United is not easy to get Nasri. The reason, Manchester City and Chelsea are also reportedly interested in getting his services. But Ferguson is confident the 24-year quarterback can get it. Reported by the Telegraph, Friday (8/7/2011), United do not intend to raise the bid.
Ferguson is looking for a new quarterback. Therefore, the Scot had lost Paul Scholes, who has decided to retire. Nasri is considered suitable in place of Scholes.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly preparing a new contract for five years with a salary of approximately 90.000 pounds. However, management is confident the Gunners can still persuade Nasri to stay in New Emirates.
