Redknapp wants Rossi

Posted by sky-high praise Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp, to Giuseppe Rossi. He hoped his club would disburse funds to the Villarreal striker.

Redknapp claims Spurs barely get Rossi in the summer of last year. The Lilywhites also briefly linked with former Manchester United player was on the transfer market in January.

Now, the Spurs could return to continue his efforts to recruit Rossi, let alone Redknapp still remain an admirer of the Italian national team players.

"Rossi is a good player. He's a smart player, "said Redknapp on Sky Sports News.

"He held the ball, he scored a goal, and he is the Italian center forward now," he added.

"We're trying to get it last year and I think worth 18 million pounds. It looks cheap now, but he is a player that we had last year almost, "said Redknapp.

If the Spurs will try to bring Rossi in the transfer market this summer, maybe they should raise its bid significantly. The reason, Rossi has just signed a new contract duration of five years with Villarreal at the beginning of this year. However, Redknapp remains hopeful the club chairman, Daniel Levy, would fulfill her desire.

"It's up to the club and Daniel and all the people. But, if you will buy top players, it requires a lot of money too. They will not be cheap, "said Redknapp.

"They have paid big, they need a big transfer fee. It's hard to do because all the clubs want the top strikers. They exist at the level of premium, they are hard to get, "he concluded.
