Jose Mourinho has insisted that Real Madrid will continue to treat Tottenham with respect, even though Madrid winning 4-0 at the first leg taking place at the Bernabeu last week.
In the game the second leg Champions League quarter-final that took place at White Hart Lane on Wednesday (13 / 4) local time, Tottenham will face a tough task to play the reverse side of the situation after suffering a major defeat in the first meeting.
Madrid arriving at White Hart Lane with full confidence and a fairly comfortable position to qualify for the semi-finals, but Mourinho still maintains its strongest squad in the face of the Spurs in the second leg, although they have the advantage when they travel to England.
With a potential opportunity to face Barcelona in the semi-finals later, Mourinho did not want to daydream and states that foster children still have a job that must be completed.
"We still need to look at the importance of the match in the second leg match later and do it with great respect," said Morinho as reported by Sky Sports.
"The players need to see clearly the match. They have to be smart to see the game and must remain vigilant. They are familiar with their situation," he said.
Mourinho, the Portuguese coach wanted to put Real Madrid in the performance and professional appearance against Spurs, wanting to respect the running game.
"We must keep our respect for your opponent. We also know that there are differences between the two teams and also score achieved, but we still have work still to be resolved soon," said Mourinho.
"We also have to respect the football game, therefore I will choose the team that I think is the best team to achieve maximum results for Real Madrid," he said.
Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, admitted that his team needed a miracle to be able to move to the semifinals. Although heavy, but Redknapp has refused to give up so easily.
Mourinho also agree with what was said by Redknapp, but Mou stressed that it was his job to make sure that there will be no miracle will happen at White Hart Lane.
"I fully agree with the words of Harry. That is the reason why I say we must respect the Spurs and football as well, because sometimes football can betray you," said Mourinho.
"We can not allow the creation of opportunities to do that, that's what we came here to compete seriously. We know the mentality of English stadiums, the supporters and also the Premier League teams," he added.
"They will try to do anything. If I put myself in Harry's position and imagine we lost 4-0 here and we have to go to Madrid to undergo the second leg, then I will not give up so easily," said Mourinho.
"I will do all sorts of ways with the players to try and start the miracle is, but at the same time, I do not feel enough for Tottenham's five goals to beat us because we came here to score goals," he concluded.
