Manchester United, Wayne Rooney, can not strengthen the fleet of the Red Devils and lost the opportunity to compete at Wembley in the Manchester derby in the FA Cup semi-finals this weekend (16 / 4).
Rooney admits he was more worried about the FA Cup semi-final match between Manchester City Manchester United, than if he took part to strengthen United in the match.
Rooney can not follow the Manchester derby at Wembley because of a ban of two matches due to reveal harsh words during United's victory at Upton Park as West Ham face.
Although he has been saying an apology for actions he did, but he remains subject to sanctions and now must accept his fate watched his team-mates attempt to secure a place in the final.
"As many say the footballer, see the team competed in a match more worried than when it participated to be part of a game," Rooney said as reported by the Goal.
"Feelings of disappointment is always there when it can not strengthen the team in a match, especially in big games when the game-such as the Manchester derby which will take place this weekend," he added.
"But I believe we have a better chance to win the match and I hope his teammates are trying hard to smooth out the steps we headed into the final round," said Rooney.
Rooney, who has never won the trophy the previous FA Cup winners, praised the veteran winger Ryan Giggs and Giggs admits that became an idol for his team-mates in the squad for the Red Devils.
"You'll see Giggs won the game for us in the current age," said Rooney. "It shows why he became the idol of us all while in the locker room of players, especially the young players, who can see how he was able to overcome him," he added.
"We all hope if one day when we all approach the end of his career, we were able to achieve success that is almost close to success," lid Rooney.
