LONDON - Chelsea must forget the ambition to get Luca Modric. Because, CEO Daniel Levy Tottenham Hotspur confirms Modric will not be released at any price.
A number of clubs wanted the services of Modric. They are Manchester United and Chelsea. In fact, the club owned by Roman Abramovich had bid £ 22 million to hook the origin of the Croatian star.
But Chelsea seem to be ready to bite the fingers. Therefore, the Spurs have refused to sell the 25-year star player with any bandrol. This has been confirmed by the club owner's Levy.
"I want to make sure as I've said before, none of our key players will be sold this summer. We want to build a team for the future, play consistently at the highest level and maintain a quality player is very crucial," said Levy.
"As for Luca Modric, we are not ready to sell at any price to Chelsea or any team. We made this statement addressed to Chelsea. For, Chelsea neglect and making an offer," he continued.
"For the avoidance of doubt, let me assert we will not negotiate with any club about Modric," said Levy, as reported by ESPN on Wednesday (06/07/2011).
