Porto - FC Porto apparently had already been prepared to anticipate the departure of Andre Villas-Boas. Candidates for the new coach had even prepared since one month prior to this.
Vitor Pereira, who is now appointed to deal with Porto, Villas-Boas decided after his contract with the club. Pereira was previously an assistant Villas-Boas, Porto.
"When the Villas-Boas went for a weekend to London more than a month ago, I've talked to Pereira about his willingness and she said yes, so on Friday I was told that the appointment will be real," I Porto president Jorge Pinto da Costa diReuters.
Pereira joined Porto as assistant Villas-Boas in June last year. Along with the decision Villas-Boas break the contract, Pereira was assessed as an appropriate successor.
"This is a natural succession and has been planned for some time, because obviously what happened is part of life and we already know this happened."
"We once again hope to continue a wave of victories that have marked the team's Porto in the last few years," hope Da Costa.
Pereira, who has signed a two-year contract as the main coach of Porto, in fact admitted Villas-Boas was invited to join move to Chelsea, the team is now headed for. However, Pereira, who is now 42-year-old chose to stay with Porto.
