Manuel Neuer: Schalke should be proud

Schalke 04, as alleged, failed to step into this season's Champions League final. Step favorites they were stopped by the champion Manchester United.

Schalke's 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford last morning in the semi-final match second leg of the Champions League. United strolled to a 6-1 aggregate advantage because in the first leg in Gelsenkirchen also won 2-0.

Though defeated, Schalke votes can still take pride in what has been gained in the Champions League this season.

"We've been able to penetrate the semi-finals, we can be proud of that achievement," said goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Thursday (5 / 5).

Regarding the game at Old Trafford, Neuer Schalke assess squad lost to Manchester United's class.

"You have to give outstanding performance to win from Manchester United. We can not show it in the first leg, was also in the second leg. But we should be able to quickly forget about the two defeats against Manchester United this," said Neuer.
