Attackers Boca Juniors Martin Palermo, announced that he will retire from football after undergoing Boca Clausura finals to face Gimnasia La Plata on 19 June.
The 37-year-old attacker has scored nine goals in 15 appearances with Argentine giants this and stated that his decision to retire in June will have an absolute and irrevocable.
"It's been two years since I retired to prepare for the consideration of one of a psychologist," said the striker who is often called as 'Loco' is quoted as saying by Sportal. "I never revealed want to retire in 1999 after the injured knee, but I decided to go back to play football," he added.
"It is very important and fundamental thing to implement since the beginning of my projection. And the decision I have made is final and can not be undone,"he concluded.
Palermo has won six Primera Division titles, two Copa Libertadores trophy and an Intercontinental Cup trophy. He also has been strengthened rivals Boca, Estudiantes, and the Spanish league club Villarreal, Betis and Alaves.
