After the Champions League's defending champions had to accept bitter defeat when playing the first leg 2-5 at the Giuseppe Meazza last week, which means Inter must score at least four goals early in the match day to be able to qualify for the semifinals.
"The match in Milan is a disaster. We have to forget it," said 32-year-old player was on the Deutsche Welle in an interview. "I think we lost the psychological strength, especially after facing Milan derby, where we did not play a good game. The game face Schalke show our bad performance since conceding five goals," he continued.
However, the Nerazzurri defender has refused to make the fatigue factor as the reason for the defeat in the first leg, as expressed Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti, shortly after the defeat at the Giuseppe Meazza.
"We are tired, but it is not the main reason for our defeat," said Lucio. "The players must know how to cope with their fatigue, and this can not be the main reason for our defeat," added the defender and captain of Brazil's national team.
Ahead of important matches later in the morning to face Schalke, Lucio confirmed that Inter is currently only have to achieve victory, where the hardest conjugation is by creating a difference of four goals in front of Schalke supporters to be able to qualify for the semifinals.
"Now we just have to win, but a victory with four goals advantage, where it is the hardest part. Things like siding with Schalke, both supporters, situations, and results from the first leg," said Lucio.
The defender who played in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich was confirmed that while playing in Germany later Inter had to look to attack from the beginning of the game to achieve victory even though he knew it was difficult to be realized.
"Inter have to play attacking football from the first minute. We are here to get a good result despite knowing it will be difficult," said Lucio.
